The Ark of the Covenant

Within the Ark is a Covenant of grace,

Where treasures lay that time could not erase.

The Tablets of God’s holy law,

His will for humanity that the righteous saw.

A golden jar of heaven’s bread,

The manna by which Israel was fed.

And Aaron’s rod, once dry and still,

Which bloomed by God’s eternal will.

Yet man broke every sacred command,

Rejected bread from God’s own hand.

Questioned the rod that God had raised,

And wandered from his holy ways.

But the lid that held the treasures within,

Was the Mercy Seat that covered all sin.

Where justice met compassion’s plea,

And grace embraced humanity.

Once every year the priest would stand,

With spotless blood to cover man.

Into the Holy of Holies he prayed,

Where only God and mercy stayed.

He sprinkled blood upon that seat,

Where holiness and sinners meet.

When God looked down from Heaven above,

He saw not failure—but he saw The Blood.

He did not see our guilt and shame,

Or every scar that sin could name.

Jesus took our place on the cross,

Shed his blood to save the lost.

The son of Man, with nail pierced hands,

Fulfilled God’s eternal plan.

No yearly offering need be made,

For every debt was fully paid.

The covenant stands by the power of love,

And the sin sick soul is Saved by the Blood.
